02 For your business
What it means for your business.
Growth like the expansion into Southern NSW depends on keeping what made the acquired business work. Merge early where the business carries risk or duplicated cost: banking, payroll, delegations, insurance and the chart of accounts. Leave alone what customers value. And count synergies only once they show up in the ledger.
The full sequence is in The first 100 days of an integration and the post-acquisition finance checklist. How I lead or oversee one is on post-merger integration.
03 Questions
Common questions.
When does a cost synergy count?
When it shows up in the ledger. Until then it is a forecast. Book each cost item from the integration case into the plan with an owner and a date.
Can you get the same result on my deal?
Results from past deals aren’t a promise of what will happen in yours. Lead the change or Board and investor support can bring the same approach to your integration.
