Renzo Demartini Talk to me

For accountants and bookkeepers

For accountants and bookkeepers whose clients need more than one workflow fixed.

I’m a Chartered Accountant who builds and connects business systems. When a client of your practice needs AI, automation or systems work across the business, you can introduce them to me. You stay their accountant, and I don’t do their tax, BAS or compliance work.

In short

  • For practices whose clients need more than one workflow fixed: a whole-business Diagnostic, AI and automation across the business, leading the change or post-merger integration.
  • The client stays yours. I don’t do their tax, BAS, compliance, audit or accounting.
  • The way in is email, the contact form or the client reading this page. I reply personally within one business day.
  • One workflow at a fixed price is Works Better’s job, and it has its own page for practices.

01 The work

What I take on for your clients.

The jobs that run across the business, not one workflow. Each is agreed in writing before work starts.

  • The Diagnostic

A short, fixed-scope review of the whole business, usually one to two weeks. It ends in a written priorities report and a roadmap across workflows, systems and people. The report is the client’s whether or not we work together afterwards.

    The Diagnostic
  • AI and automation across the business

Where AI, automation and systems pay off across several workflows, the systems that connect them and the controls an auditor expects. Then, if the client wants it, I lead the change part-time and hands-on, alongside their team, until it holds.

    Lead the change
  • Post-merger integration

For a client that has bought a business, or is about to: due diligence as the first draft of the plan, a stable first month and one set of numbers by day 100.

    Post-merger integration

02 How a referral works

How a referral works, in four steps.

The shape of a referral, not a timetable. The scope and timeframe are agreed in writing before work starts.

  1. Step 1

You introduce the client, or send them this page

Email me, use the contact form or send the client the link to this page and let them write to me. Share only what the client is happy for you to share.

  2. Step 2

    I reply personally

I reply within one business day. We talk about what is happening in the business before anything is scoped, and I tell the client plainly if I am not the right person for the job.

  3. Step 3

The Diagnostic, or a smaller first step

Usually a Diagnostic, with the scope, timeframe and fixed fee in writing before any work begins. A smaller first step can be the free finance health check, or for one workflow a free fit check by email at Works Better.

  4. Step 4

You stay the client’s accountant, and you’re kept informed

With the client’s consent, I keep you informed of what I find and what I recommend, so nothing I change in their systems surprises you. You keep the books, the BAS, the tax and the relationship.

Not sure the client is ready? The finance health check asks ten questions on cash, reporting, controls and growth readiness, and is free.

03 What I don’t do

What I don’t do, so the client stays yours.

  • Tax and BAS. I don’t prepare or lodge the client’s tax returns or BAS, and I don’t offer tax agent services. I worked as a tax adviser for 10 years. That is my experience, not a service I sell.
  • Compliance and audit. I don’t do the client’s compliance work, audits or reviews.
  • The client’s accounting. I don’t take over their bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end entries or financial statements. I fix and connect the systems that work runs on, and your practice keeps doing it.
  • Moving the client. The introduction doesn’t move the client’s accounting, tax or BAS to me. The client stays with you.

04 Working alongside

Why a CA who builds the systems is easy to work alongside.

I’m a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), with 16 years across finance, operations and systems and 10 years as a tax adviser.

  • The same language

We talk about the ledger the way you do.

Controls, reconciliations, the close and the board pack are words I use every week. You will not have to translate between your practice and a technologist.

  • The client’s data stays put

I work in their systems and accounts.

The client decides which systems I can see and with what access, and it is written into the scope. Their data stays with them.

  • A person approves

Money decisions stay with a person.

The finance fleet I built has a person approving every money decision, and I build for clients the same way.

  • Written scope, fixed fee

No surprises for you or the client.

Every engagement is agreed in writing before work starts, at a fixed fee or a stated monthly fee. No hourly billing.

05 One workflow

If the client needs one workflow fixed, not several.

Works Better is the implementation side: one workflow at a time, at a fixed price, on the software the client already runs. The first step is a free fit check by email, then the Workflow Audit, which is A$990. It has its own page for practices: worksbetter.ai/partners/.

The two are different jobs. The Diagnostic looks at the whole business and ends in a roadmap across workflows, systems and people. The Workflow Audit looks at one workflow and ends in a fixed quote for the build.

06 Getting in touch

How to introduce a client.

  • Email me at hello@renzodemartini.com, or use the contact form. You can also send the client the link to this page.
  • I reply personally within one business day.
  • I’m based in Canberra, and I work across Australia, remotely and in person. I travel for engagements.
  • Every engagement is agreed in writing before work starts. A Diagnostic usually takes one to two weeks.
  • Fees. A Diagnostic is a fixed fee, from A$4,950; leading the change is from A$6,500 a month; an Ongoing adviser is from A$3,500 a month; and Board and investor support is a fixed fee per deal, from A$7,500, or a monthly retainer. I confirm the fee in writing once we’ve agreed the scope. No hourly billing.

Introducing a client? Email me, use the contact form or send the client this page. Or read how the four engagements work first.

07 Questions

Common questions.

Does the client stay mine?

Yes. You stay their accountant or bookkeeper. I don’t do their tax, BAS, compliance, audit or accounting, and the introduction doesn’t move any of it to me.

Do you do tax or BAS for the clients you meet?

No. I worked as a tax adviser for 10 years, but that is experience, not a service I offer. I don’t offer tax agent services, and I don’t prepare or lodge a client’s tax returns or BAS.

How do I introduce a client?

Email hello@renzodemartini.com, use the contact form or send the client the link to this page. Share only what the client is happy for you to share. I reply personally within one business day.

What will I be told, and when?

With the client’s consent, I keep you informed of what I find and what I recommend, so nothing I change in their systems surprises you. The client decides what is shared.

What does it cost the client to start?

A Diagnostic is a fixed fee, from A$4,950, usually one to two weeks, with the scope and timeframe agreed in writing before work begins. A smaller first step is the free finance health check, or for one workflow a free fit check by email at Works Better.

What if the client needs only one workflow fixed?

Send them to Works Better, the implementation side: one workflow at a time, at a fixed price, starting with a free fit check by email. It has its own page for practices at worksbetter.ai/partners/.
